How to Get
to Ponza

Getting to Ponza is quite simple because the island can be reached by different means of transport including:
• by plane from the airports of Rome and Naples and from there you can reach the ports of embarkation to Ponza by train, taxi, rental car or helicopter;
• by train to Formia and Anzio and from there you can reach the ports of embarkation to Ponza by taxi or on foot covering approximately one kilometer;
• by car to the embarking areas of Formia, Terracina and Anzio. On the island, the circulation of non-residents cars during the summer months is prohibited.

Transfer

Arriving in Ponza by landing in Rome or Naples is not the only possibility for those who want to start the holiday in complete relaxation. You can also book a transfer service or a short flight by helicopter.
The collective transfer service is active from the airports of Fiumicino, Ciampino and Capodichino to the ports of embarkation for Ponza (Formia and Terracina).
From the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports in Rome the transfer service is active on Saturday and Sunday; whereas, at the Naples Capodichino airport the transfer service only works on Saturday.
If the times of the collective transfer do not coincide with the departures of the ferry or hydrofoil, you can opt for a private transfer service. The service is carried out by a private car that can take up to three people or with a minivan that can carry up to seven people.

Helicopter
From the airports of Rome and Naples you can fly by helicopter to Ponza. The flight takes about 30 minutes and it is advisable not to carry too much luggage because space is limited.

How to reach the ports of embarkation for Ponza

FORMIA

By Train
From the Roma Termini train station there are Intercity (IC) trains and regional trains around every hour. The ICs take about 70 minutes, and the regional ones take around 90 minutes.
From the Napoli Centrale train station there are IC trains and regional trains around every hour. The ICs take about 50 minutes, and the regional ones take about 75 minutes.

By Car
From the A1 Milano - Napoli motorway, take the Cassino exit and continue along the provincial road to Formia.

ANZIO

By Train
From the Roma Termini train station, regional trains run about every hour, taking about 60 minutes. The Anzio port is about 1 kilometer from the train station and can be covered on foot or by taxi.

By Car
From the ring road of Rome, take exit 26 for Via Pontina SS148, after about 32 kilometers take the ramp to Anzio.

TERRACINA

By Train
Regional trains run from the Roma Termini railway station which take around 90 minutes. From the train station you can take a two-kilometer bus or taxi ride to the Terracina port.

By Car
From the A1 Milano - Napoli motorway, exit at Frosinone, and continue along the provincial road to Terracina. From the Rome ring road, take exit 26 for Via Pontina SS148, after about 95 kilometers take the ramp to Terracina.

SAN FELICE CIRCEO

By Train
From the railway station of Roma Termini, regional trains that take about 60 minutes leave about every hour and arrive at the Priverno-Fossanova train station, which is about 37 km by bus or taxi ride away from the port of San Felice Circeo.

By Car
From the A1 Milano - Napoli motorway, exit at Frosinone, continue along the provincial road to San Felice Circeo. From Rome ring road, take exit 26 for Via Pontina SS148, after about 85 kilometers take the exit for San Felice Circeo.

Ferries to Ponza

The island of Ponza can be easily reached by ferry (which allows the boarding of cars) or, more quickly, by hydrofoil (passengers only).
